What material do you need and is it provided in Astn’go ?
To implement the Astn’go solution and start monitoring your production, some hardware is required. Most of this equipment is included in the subscription offer.
You will find in this article all the essential elements for the good implementation of Astn’go.
What equipment do you need to use Astn’go and track your production ?
The material needed for production monitoring is of three kinds :
- A screen to display key information to the operator.
- A data transfer system between the machine and Astn’go.
- The material to collect the data from the production machine (sensor or automaton, cable, connectors).
1. Screen for operator display
Even if this screen can be a tablet, a phone or a computer, what Astn’go customers use the most are industrial touch terminals.
Do I need it ?
Yes, the screen is essential to allow the operator or manager to consult the data and monitor his production.
Does it come with Astn’go?
The tablet is not included in the initial Astn’go offer. Different models of terminals or tablets are available for purchase in our store. One tablet is needed per machine, making it easier for all operators to enter and follow the data. Generally these terminals have a protection index.
2. A data transfer system between the machine and Astn’go
Do I need it ?
Production data acquisition is mandatory for production monitoring. You need an Astn’go IIoT for each machine to be connected to measure production time and downtime, but also to count production.
Does it come with Astn’go?
Yes, an IIoT is included in the Astn’go offer for each followed machine. Depending on your choice it can be WiFi or wired (ethernet). In case of WiFi model, a remote antenna is also provided to allow you to install the IIoT in a electrical enclosure. A 12V power supply is required.
We provide one device for free for the 30-day trial. After that, we provide as many devices as you need depending on the quantity of your subscription.
3. The hardware to collect the data from the machine
Do I need it ?
The Astn’go IIoT allows you to make the connection between the Astn’go application and your machine. However, the IIoT must be powered with the right information. To do this, you need to use the right hardware to get the right signal at the right place and at the right time.
Does it come with Astn’go?
The supply of sensor, cable or other elements to make the link between your machine and the IIoT is not included in the offer. Our customers usually use their own hardware or connect to an output of an existing PLC.

Display system
We will distinguish 3 types of screens :
- The shelves or terminals on the machine.
We offer different models of tablets that can be adapted to your production environment and the constraints you may encounter (dustproof, protection against high-pressure water jets, steam cleaning, etc.).It is important to think about the ergonomics of the operator’s workstation so that data entry can be carried out without constraint. We offer fixed or mobile workstations for this purpose. - TV screens for workshop restitution or meeting animation.
For this display, you can broadcast Astn’go on a large screen in the workshop in order to share the monitoring indicators of a machine or a workshop, by displaying the dashboard that you have customized. With the Analysis and data diffusion extension, it is possible to manually or automatically scroll through the presentations of the dashboards that you have previously built. - Managers’ screens in the offices.
The managers can also consult the data directly from their computers (fixed or laptop) in the offices or on a tablet during the shop floor tour. They find the configured analysis dashboards and presentations.

Please note that you will have to adapt your terminals according to your shop floor restrictions. We can offer you terminals with IP65 or IP66 protection ratings.
Data transfer equipment (IIoT Astn’go)
The IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) included in the Astn’go offer has inputs, allowing more flexibility in the operating modes available in the application.
An IIoT is associated to a machine only. If the machine or module is moved, it is possible to modify this association directly from the configuration page or even simpler, to forward the IIoT with the equipment.
The IIoT must be powered by an electrical source (12V) and must be able to access the Internet (via wired Ethernet or WiFi).
Data capture on equipment (sensors, relays, automats)
The material needed to make the connection between your machine and the Astn’go IIoT will depend on your type of production.
To get the right information, it is sometimes necessary to add sensors, measuring tools on your machines or lines to get the right information at the right time. It is often a matter of measuring and counting.
The information to retrieve may already be in your PLC, on Andon lights or generated by a push button. In this case, you can retrieve this information using a relay to make the connection with the IIoT Astn’go.
Cables and connectors
The power cable for the Astn’go device and the connectors for the sensors are not included in the offer with the IIoT. If necessary, we can provide these items in addition.
The type of power supply and the type of sensor and connectors depend on your situation. These topics will be discussed during the support meetings following your order.
