Continuous improvement
Continuous improvement is a set of structured approaches or methods that aim at operational excellence, concerning the staff, product quality, customer satisfaction and the global performance of the company, thus ensuring its development and long-term success. The difficulty, when these steps are taken, lies in their sustainability. This is where Astn’go software helps managers to maintain a high operational level.
Astn’go supports the following methods in real time:

Data
available in real time without manual consolidation

Analyses
of indicators based on objective and factual information

Measure the impact of
of action plans on the evolution of results

Identify
Mudas to reduce waste

Build
modern communication to support operational excellence

Gain in competitiveness
by improving your OEE by 5 to 25%

OEE & Pareto
Continuous improvement starts with fair and objective measurement; it continues with a factual analysis and it is sustained by permanent and shared monitoring. With Astn’go, the OEE and several dozen performance indicators are available in real time to operators and managers. The Pareto analysis of stoppages, rejects and other losses enables action plans to be built.
Capturing the data at the source allows Astn’go to provide reliable information. The IIoT measures the equipment’s on and off times; the operator qualifies the causes of stoppages. IIoT counts production, operator reports and qualifies rejects. The manager has all the sources of losses.
The analysis of the indicators involves the study of the OEE, its components and also the Pareto analysis, but not only. Astn’go offers all the indicators and representation modes to identify losses and monitor the impact of action plans and the steps taken.
SMED
The automatic measurement of changeover times and their real time comparison with the objectives allow the operator and the tool setter to position themselves, and the manager to better manage his/her SMED project thanks to Astn’go.
Whatever the project or the continuous improvement process, Astn’go will measure the time of an action, a state and collect the data on the ground.
For a SMED project, Astn’go will measure the time between the last good part of a series and the first good part of the next series. This time (corresponding to a change of tool, format, or setting as the case may be) is displayed to the operator with regard to the objective given by the manager. Slippage can be justified by the operator. The analysis of the evolution of these times of change makes it possible to adjust the organization of the workshop and thus to make it more efficient.
Visual management and SIM
Visual management is available in several forms with Astn’go: at the foot of the machine or at the edge of the line and in the workshop on a large screen. Web dashboards are also very useful for SIM (Short Interval Management) meetings.

The Astn’go operator screens have been entirely designed for visual management with representations, shapes and colors that allow a quick understanding of the situation.
With Astn’go, it is possible to build a web dashboard. With the Data analysis and dissemination extension the number of dashboards is not limited. These tables can be assembled into presentations that can be automatically displayed on large TV screens on the lines or in the workshop. Used in manual mode, they serve as a support for daily meetings, for short interval management.
Feedback from the field
Continuous improvement initiatives mean that you have to take into account what’s happening in the field. Astn’go enables you to collect data relating to your processes (production, quality, maintenance, etc.) and also enables operators to put forward ideas for improvement that can be discussed during short interval animation.
To do this, you can use the workbook or a dedicated checklist.
