1. Performance

TEEP : Total Effective Equipment Performance = OOE x Strategic Rate =

OOE : Overall Operations Effectiveness = OEE x Use Rate =

OEE : Overall Equipment Effectiveness = Quality rate x Performance rate x Availability rate =

2. Rates

Quality Rate =
This rate reflects the percentage of the time spent to produce good quantity over the production time/

Use Rate =
This rate reflects the percentage of the actual production time over the maximum operating time of the means of production.

Performance Rate =
This rate reflects the percentage of the effective production time after downtime and rate slowdown, but before taking into account scrap on the effective production time.

Availability Rate =
This rate reflects the actual production time over the planned operating time (Planned production time).

Strategic Rate =

Scrap Rate =

3. Indicators

Good parts : good parts produced

Bad parts : Bad parts produced, scrap

Total parts : Overall quantity produced

Adjustment parts : Parts produced during adjustment

MDT (Mean Down Time) : Mean time of an unplanned downtime

MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) : Mean time between two unplanned downtimes

MUT (Mean Up Time) : Mean time between the end of an unplanned downtime and the start of the next one

Total time : Reference time including all possible states. It represents 24h for a day, 168h for a week, etc…

Adjustment time : Time that has been allocated to the adjustment of the means of production (see SMED)

Downtime : Time during which the means of production is stopped.

Closing time : Time during which the shop floor is closed, it is subtracted from the total time to obtain the scheduled time.

Scheduled downtime : Time corresponding to all planned downtime prior to the use of the means of production, e.g. Cleaning, preventive maintenance, etc…

Technical downtime : Time during which the means of production is on downtime for maintenance, adjustment or raw supply.

Unplanned downtime : Time during which the means of production was on downtime in an unwanted way.

Scheduled time: Time reflecting to the usual opening hours of the shop floor or the means of production.

Planned production time : The reference time during which the means of production is engaged with the will to produce. This time includes production phases, technical and unplanned downtimes.

Operating time : Time during which the means of production produces parts.

Net operating time : Time during which the means of production produces within the cycle time (standard cycle time or maximum speed).

Fully productive time : The time during which the means of production produces good parts. This time is calculated by multiplying the number of good parts by the reference cycle time.

Labour time (Setup): Time spent in the adjustment phase (= adjustment type of equipment status), multiplied by the number of operators present on the equipment at the time of this phase.

Labour time (Production) : Time spent in the production phase (= production type and technical and unplanned downtimes equipment status), multiplied by the number of operators present on the equipment at the time of this phase.

Average rate on planned production time : Calculation of the average rate of the means of production compared to the Planned production time, i.e. the time during which the means of production is engaged in production.
