How does Astn’go allow to follow the quality of the production ?
Unfortunately, it is common for a production process to produce bad parts that need to be scrapped. This impacts the quality rate and generates OEE losses, which must be identified, classified, measured and analyzed to improve. Astn’go integrates all scrap management.
Measuring scrap
To collect the scrap information, Astn’go offers you the following two possibilities :

Automatic counting from your IIoT
Different acquisition modes taking into account the automatic counting of scrap parts are proposed to you when setting up your equipment. To do this, your IIoT must be wired to a signal to count your scrap parts.
Real-time reporting by the operator
The person who follows the production declares the scrap as it happens: quantity, scrap reason and a comment. The scrap reasons can of course be configured beforehand in Astn’go.
Post declaration by the operator or the quality agent for example
Even if the production is finished, it is possible to declare scraps. It is then necessary to define when they occurred and to associate a reason and a comment to them.

Classify the scraps
To facilitate the declaration of scraps, the quality manager will have established one or more reasons lists that he will propose to the input. A list can have several layers, for example in the first level there could be “Appearance defect” and in level 2 “Scuff marks”, “Color”…

These lists can be customized and different for each equipment.
Analyze losses
In order to better evaluate the quality level, the indicator Quality rate, component of the OEE, is the most appropriate. It is calculated by the ratio between the good quantity and the done one. However, this indicator alone does not allow for a detailed analysis of losses. Astn’go offers several graphic representations such as the Pareto.
